Where in the World?

Mon Jul 6, 2009, 6:00 AM
I realize I haven't updated this journal since I joined the Peace Corps last September. Just giving you a heads up that I'm in a different part of the world--Morocco. I had been rather quiet here as I've adjusted to a new culture and job, as well as learning a new language during the last 10 months.

I don't mean to be completely absent, and hopefully things have settled down enough for me that I can share with the DA community some products of my new visual stimulation.

This is also a notice that I cannot, by Peace Corps rules, accept commissions.

Commissions

Wed Jun 27, 2007, 1:13 PM
I am officially open for commissions. If you have an interest in commissioning me in the near future, I would recommend discussing what you would like with me as soon as possible. I say this because although my situation for the summer (in terms of work/studio time) is fairly stable, things may change in the fall.

I am open to a variety of subjects and types of commissions. Although I prefer working in oils and acrylics, I can also do digital paintings, pencil sketches, etc. I typically tackle landscapes, portraits, and illustrations of a fantastical nature. Pricing depends on the project--and I am willing to try and work out pricing with you so we can both be happy. I work fairly fast once I have everything nessisary to start.
To refresh your memory on what I have done in the past, please see my deviantArt account (I am currently having issues with my webhosting, and until that gets cleared up in the next few days paynefulart.com is down).

Feel free to ask questions (I won't take it as a commitment!) here or through email (lisa at paynefulart.com).

edit: Please use paynefulart at gmail.com (temporary issue related to website being down). Thank you!

Commissions: last call

Mon Jul 10, 2006, 7:36 PM
Since a few people on the fence opted out of a commission from me, I am currently completely open. If anyone is interested commission information is here: [link]
Once I recieve adequate information and payment I work pretty quickly, usually finishing within a week.

This is also the last call for commissions until next summer (or later). I absolutely cannot take on anything while class is in session.

Thank you to all who have commissioned me this summer, it was a joy working with all of you! :D

Commissions open!

Sat Apr 29, 2006, 5:24 PM
Summer break is almost here, and it is unlikely I will have a full time job. So, while I am not working on my grad-art, I would like to open up for more commissions, at fairly low prices. Keep me busy!

Here is some of what you can commission me for:
-Character art (includes animals, anthro, human, fantasy):
I can do quick digital paintings (esp. good for things like lj icons) of your character starting at $15 for less detailed and up.
More involved digital paintings of your character(s) in a scene starting at $75+.
Quick sketches in pencil or ink starting at $15+ .
Quick real media piece in acrylic, pencil/ink, and/or gouache $30+.
Involved real media piece oil, acrylic, pencil/ink, and/or gouache with character(s)/background $100+

-Environments/Scenes (real or imagined):
Digital starts at $25 for a less detailed scene to $100+ for detailed environments
Acrylic/Oil starts at $50 for small, less detailed painting to $300+ for detailed and larger paintings

-Traditional Portraits (People or pets):
Acrylic/Oil starts at $75 for a small, less detailed painting to $300+ for larger

-Other:
Please ask!

I will not do anything I find offensive. If you are familiar with my work you have a general idea of what I will do.
Time frame on when I will get your piece done depends on complication. Quick pieces I will get done within a week or less if at all possible, larger pieces I'll keep you posted. All work must absolutely be finished by early August.
Prices do not include rights to reproduce the image for commercial purposes, nor shipping for real-media pieces.
If you have any questions on what I will do or how much it will cost, please email me at lisa at paynefulart dot com.

A few notes

Tue Jul 19, 2005, 7:52 PM
1. I upload a lot of my work to scraps. It is nice that 500+ people are interested in my work, but it is also intimidating. Not everything I do is polished. I experiment, I doodle, etc. I sometimes spend a lot of time on something that doesn't turn out quite right. If you are interested in seeing the large amount of work that doesn't make it to "deviation" status, watch my scraps.
Like my deviations, I don't mind and encourage critiques on my scraps, but keep in mind they shouldn't be held to the same standard.

2. I will be out of town from July 23-August 5. I won't be able to respond to comments or emails during that time.
